Extended Family Session

For multiple households or generations

Extended family photographs do not have to feel chaotic. I will thoughtfully plan the family groupings and confidently direct the session, so no one in your family has to organize everyone or keep track of what comes next.

Your session includes:

  1. Up to 90 minutes

  2. One location

  3. A thoughtfully planned list of family groupings

  4. Full group portraits, individual households, grandparents with grandchildren, couples, cousins, and the relationships that matter most

  5. 100 or more fully edited digital photographs

  6. An online gallery with personal printing rights

There is no limit based on the number of people attending.

Family Session FAQs

What is the difference between an immediate family session and an extended family session?

An immediate family session is designed for one household, including parents and their children, with no limit on the number of children.

An extended family session includes multiple households or generations, such as grandparents, adult children, spouses, grandchildren, and every branch of the family. There is no limit based on the number of people attending.

What if my children do not cooperate?

Your children do not have to sit still, smile on command, or behave perfectly for us to create meaningful photographs.

As a mom of four and an experienced family photographer, I know when to offer direction, when to make things playful, and when to give a child a little room. I will adjust as we go while still making sure you receive the important family groupings and genuine moments you want to remember.

What photographs will we receive?

Every session includes the traditional photographs everyone wants, including the entire family looking at the camera, children together, individual photographs of each child, and pictures of the parents together.

We will also create playful, interactive photographs that capture personalities, relationships, laughter, and the connection that makes your family yours.

Will you help us decide what to wear?

Yes. You will receive guidance to help your family choose clothing that coordinates beautifully without everyone matching.

My goal is for your photographs to feel polished while still looking like your family. Comfort matters, especially for children and teenagers, so I will help you find the balance between looking good and feeling like yourselves.

Where do family photography sessions take place in Lafayette or West Lafayette?

Most sessions are held outdoors at one of the beautiful parks or natural areas around Lafayette and West Lafayette, Indiana.

I will recommend locations based on the season, the size of your family, the ages of your children, and the overall feeling you want for your photographs. Sessions may also take place at your home when it is the right fit for your family.

Are digital photographs included?

Yes. Immediate family sessions include 75 or more fully edited digital photographs. Extended family sessions include 100 or more.

Your photographs will be delivered through an online gallery where you can download, share, and order prints. Personal printing rights are also included.

How long will it take to receive our photographs?

Your completed gallery will be delivered within 30 days, although I always try to have it ready sooner.

Each photograph is carefully selected and edited in my timeless, true to life style before it is delivered.

Can we include our pets?

Absolutely. Pets are part of the family, too.

Please let me know before your session so I can recommend a pet friendly location and help you plan for keeping everyone comfortable.

What happens if the weather does not cooperate?

I carefully watch the forecast as your session approaches. If the weather will prevent us from creating beautiful photographs safely and comfortably, we will work together to choose another date.

Indiana weather can change quickly, so I do not make unnecessary decisions too far in advance.

How do we reserve a family photography session?

Begin by completing my contact form and telling me a little about your family. I will help you choose the right type of session, location, date, and time.

Your session will be officially reserved once your agreement is signed and your retainer has been paid.
