Purdue Engagement Photos at Horticulture Park & Downtown Lafayette
Jesse & Anu’s Summer Engagement Session in Lafayette, Indiana
Some sessions just linger in your memory, and Jesse and Anu’s engagement session was one of those. Even though the summer evening brought that classic Indiana heat, laughter and love filled the air as we explored two beautiful spots for engagement photos in the Lafayette area: Purdue Horticulture Park and Downtown Lafayette.
Jesse and Anu will be getting married next summer with a sacred ceremony at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church on the Purdue University campus in West Lafayette. Their reception will be held at the stunning Purdue Memorial Union Ballroom, surrounded by friends and family.
But what makes their story extra special is how their love grew through faith. Anu made the beautiful decision to convert to Catholicism a few years ago, and that’s how she met Jesse. Jesse was already active in the St. Thomas community. Over the last three years, their relationship has been rooted in growing closer to God and to each other. Now they’re looking forward to building a marriage grounded in their shared faith.
Why I Include Engagement Sessions in My Wedding Packages
As a Lafayette engagement and wedding photographer, I believe engagement sessions are so important that they’re included in my full-day wedding photography package.
These sessions are about so much more than pretty pictures.
Celebrate the Season You’re In
Engagement sessions give you the chance to pause and truly savor this season. You're only engaged once, and capturing it with joy and intention is such a gift.
These photos will be something you look back on for years to come—memories of the season when you were preparing your hearts for marriage.
Use Your Photos in Meaningful Ways
You can use your engagement photos for:
Save-the-date cards
Wedding invitations
Guest books
Wedding websites
Framed prints for your home
These images tell the beginning of your forever story, and that’s worth celebrating.
Get Comfortable in Front of the Camera
Engagement sessions also give you a chance to practice being in front of the camera.
You’ll learn the natural posing flow I use, and we’ll build confidence together. On your wedding day, you’ll feel relaxed and photo-ready.
Less Stress, More Joy on Your Wedding Day
Because we’ve already worked together, wedding portraits move quickly and easily. You’ll know what to expect, and I’ll know how you two interact best. That means more time soaking up the hugs, laughter, and once-in-a-lifetime moments.
Build Trust With Your Photographer
These sessions help us connect.
You get to see how I work behind the camera, and I get to see the real you. That trust makes a difference not just in your images but in your whole experience.
And Yes, They’re Just Plain Fun
Even with temps in the 90s, Jesse and Anu were all in. They brought two outfits: one for the peaceful setting of Purdue Horticulture Park and another for the vibrant vibe of Downtown Lafayette.
We laughed a lot, melted a little (thank you Indiana humidity), and captured beautiful moments that reflect exactly who they are and the life they’re building together.

I’d love to help you capture this joyful season. Engagement sessions are included in all of my full day wedding photography packages.
