Where is a good location to get our pictures taken?
This is one of the questions we all have when we are planning our photo session. When you book a session with me I am happy to give you a list of good location options.
As a Lafayette Indiana and surrounding area wedding and family photographer I am always keeping my eye out for great photo session locations.
The Lafayette area has several great spots to choose from. I have a few photo locations that I like best.
Different locations create different “looks”. It is important to choose a location that fits the look you are going for. Do you want an urban or rural look? Do you want native grasses or pavement?
One of the best locations for a rural, natural look near Lafayette is Fairfield Lakes Park.

Fairfield Lakes park has a several areas that are great for pictures. It is easy to move from one area to another, getting a variety of looks.
When I photograph a photo session at Fairfield Lakes Park I typically start in the back of the park and work my way up to the front. The order we move around the park is based on lighting. I choose the best light for your pictures.
In the spring the park bursts forth with fresh green grasses and flowering trees. In the summer the park is lush and green and the lakes sparkle. During the fall the autumn colors put on a grand show and the native grasses provide lots of interesting texture. During the cold months the park is still a beautiful place because the native plants have winter beauty.

The Fairfield lakes park has many different settings to choose from. There are sections that are wide open, wooded, near the water or on paths. It is easy to get a variety of looks all in one park.
