What is a good location for our photo session?
This is a common question. When anyone books a session with me I like to give a list of good location options for you to choose from.
As a Lafayette Indiana and surrounding area wedding and family photographer I am always on the lookout for great photo session locations.
The Lafayette area is blessed with several great spots. I have a few photo locations that I especially like.
One of the best locations for pictures in Lafayette is The Haan Museum of Indiana.
What makes the Haan Museum a great location for pictures?

Utilizing the variety of places on their grounds you will receive many different “looks” without having to actually change locations.
When I photograph a photo session at the Haan Museum I typically start in the back in the sculpture garden and work my way up to the front. We will stop at a variety of spots and get many different looks.
In the summer there are gorgeous flowers and in the fall the autumn colors put on a grand show. At Christmas time they have beautiful wreaths and bows and the Winter the neutral color of the building provides the perfect back drop. Springtime bursts into life with green grass and spring flowers.

The front walkway leading from the street up to the grand front porch provides many great spots for interactive walking pictures as well as views of the stunning museum mansion building.
The Mansion itself is very beautiful and has a very fascinating history! You can read all about it on their website, but it was originally constructed in 1904 St. Louis World Fair. It was later moved to Lafayette and re-constructed. The Mansion building has a rich history and is one of only 15 buildings that are surviving from the 1904 St. Louis World Fair. The Mansion has three above ground floors plus a basement and is 16,000 square feet in size.
