Nate and Malyah’s Blossom Barn Wedding Rooted in Prayer and Surrounded by Family
Wedding Moments Uniquely Theirs
Before Malyah ever appeared at the end of the aisle, Nate heard her voice. With their bridal party gathered at the front and the people they loved waiting with them, a message Malyah had recorded for her groom began to play. She told Nate how blessed she felt to become his wife. She thanked him for supporting her through every season, especially the demanding years of nursing school, and for helping her become a better person. She spoke about his faith, the gift of being baptized together, and the life and home they were about to build. Then Malyah walked down the aisle toward him.
It was a beautiful beginning to their August 8th wedding at Blossom Barn in Mulberry, Indiana, and to a ceremony that reflected exactly who Nate and Malyah are: deeply grateful for one another, surrounded by family and friends, and committed to keeping Christ at the center of their marriage.
From a First Date to Forever
Nate and Malyah first met through Holy, a Christian dating app. A simple conversation soon became hours of talking, and from the beginning, their connection felt easy, meaningful, and grounded in their shared faith.
Nate traveled from Columbus, Ohio, to Lafayette, Indiana, for their first date. Even with several hours between them, they continued making the drive nearly every weekend. Long distance dating required effort, but it also taught them how to communicate, encourage one another, and keep choosing their relationship through busy and demanding seasons.
When Malyah’s nursing program filled her weeks with classes, clinicals, and work, it became harder to protect their weekends together. But instead of allowing the distance to pull them apart, Nate and Malyah realized they were ready to build a life in the same place.
On October 27, 2024, Nate proposed at Fairfield Lakes. I had the privilege of photographing that moment, and since then, I have photographed their engagement session and Malyah’s nursing school graduation. Watching their story unfold over the past two years has made this wedding feel especially meaningful.
Getting Ready in the Silos at Blossom Barn
Nate and Malyah knew they wanted a barn wedding with a country feel, but they also wanted their day to feel elegant and timeless. Blossom Barn Venue in Mulberry, Indiana, gave them both.
The historic Dairy Barn has been thoughtfully updated while preserving the character that makes it special. Large glass windows fill the white interior with natural light, and two silo rooms provide separate getting ready spaces for the bride and groom.
Blossom Barn is also genuinely wonderful to work with. The staff cares about the couples they serve, and Tayler Wagner did a fabulous job coordinating Nate and Malyah’s day. Her calm attention helped everything move smoothly while the couple and their families remained free to enjoy the celebration.
Malyah prepared for the day in one silo while Nate and his groomsmen used the other. Her soft pink, white, and green florals complemented the country setting beautifully. A cross and Bible were also included in the decor, quietly representing the foundation Nate and Malyah want beneath their marriage.
After Malyah stepped into her Moonlight Couture wedding dress, she shared a first look with her dad, Daman, and her brothers. Their reactions revealed what became clear throughout the entire day: these families do not simply love Nate and Malyah individually. They are deeply invested in the life the two of them are building together.
A First Touch Covered in Prayer

Nate and Malyah chose not to see each other before the ceremony, but they still wanted a quiet moment together. During their first touch, they stood close without seeing one another while their pastor prayed over them.
That choice felt especially fitting for them. Before the portraits, celebration, or carefully planned details, they paused to acknowledge the One who brought them together and the foundation upon which they want to build their marriage.
They did not need to see each other to be reminded that they were entering the day together.
An Outdoor Wedding Ceremony Rooted in Faith
Nate and Malyah’s outdoor ceremony at Blossom Barn included several deeply personal expressions of faith.
Their wedding rings were passed through the hands of the bridal party and loved ones seated in the front rows. Each person was invited to pray over the rings before Nate and Malyah exchanged them. By the time the rings returned, they carried more than a promise between two people. They represented the prayers and support of the community surrounding their marriage.
After exchanging vows, Nate and Malyah took communion together. It was a quiet, sacred moment in the middle of a joyful celebration, and a visible reminder that their commitment was not only to one another. Their marriage would be built with Christ at the center.
The entire ceremony reflected the hope Malyah had shared in her recorded message: to become Nate’s wife, to one day raise a family together, and to create a home shaped by faith, love, and mutual support.
The People Who Helped Them Reach This Day
Although every wedding celebrates two people, Nate and Malyah’s day was also a celebration of the relationships that have supported them.
Their bridal party brought energy, laughter, and genuine friendship into every part of the day. Their families were involved not only in the formal moments, but in the emotions and joy woven throughout the celebration.
One of the most meaningful reception moments came when Malyah offered a toast to her mom, Kristi. She spoke about the friendship they share, how much her mom has supported her throughout her life, and how she could not have navigated the wedding planning process without her. Then she gave Kristi a bracelet.
Malyah cried. Her mom cried. Her dad cried. It was tender, honest, and entirely deserving of the time it was given.
These are the moments that often become more valuable with the passing years. The bracelet was beautiful, but the real gift was hearing a daughter tell her mother, in front of the people they love, just how much she mattered.
A First Dance Worth Remembering

Nate and Malyah’s first dance felt completely like them: romantic, joyful, and just dramatic enough to make everyone stop and watch.
As they danced, fog covered the floor and spark fountains lit the space behind them. At just the right moment, Nate dipped Malyah for a kiss. It was a spectacular beginning to a reception filled with people who were genuinely ready to celebrate them.
Later, Malyah changed into a short reception dress and personalized Nike Air Force 1 shoes featuring her new last name and their wedding date. It was the perfect combination of bridal and playful, and it made it much easier to enjoy the dance floor.
What Is a Reverse Anniversary Dance?
Instead of using a traditional anniversary dance that gradually removes couples from the floor, Nate and Malyah chose a reverse anniversary dance that invited more people to join them.
They began alone as Alan Jackson’s “Remember When” played. The DJ first invited couples who had been married for one year or less to join them. He continued calling longer lengths of marriage until the couple who had been married the longest had stepped onto the floor.
By the end, the dance floor held newlyweds, young couples, parents, grandparents, and generations of marriages surrounding Nate and Malyah.
It was more than a creative way to bring people onto the dance floor. It created a picture of what marriage really is. Nate and Malyah were beginning their first day, surrounded by couples who had already lived through years of ordinary mornings, difficult seasons, answered prayers, laughter, forgiveness, and faithfulness.
Honestly, more couples should consider this. Rather than ending with one couple standing alone, the reverse anniversary dance ends with a community standing together.
A Puppy Named Blossom and Other Personal Details
Even Nate and Malyah’s dog carried a connection to their wedding venue. Nate gave the puppy to Malyah at her bridal shower, and Blossom Barn played a part in choosing her name.
Blossom joined them on the wedding day, and a small dog figurine also appeared on their elegant three tiered wedding cake. It was a playful detail that made the cake feel personal instead of simply pretty.
Their dessert display was filled with cookies, bars, and treats for guests to enjoy. From the florals to the food to the full dance floor, every part of the reception felt welcoming. Nate and Malyah had hoped their guests would know how much their presence mattered, and that spirit could be felt throughout the evening.
The celebration ended with a grand exit beneath the night sky, closing a day filled with faith, family, friendship, and a great deal of joy.

It has been such an honor to watch your relationship grow and to celebrate so many milestones with you. From the proposal at Fairfield Lakes to your engagement photographs, Malyah’s graduation, and now your wedding day, you have continued inviting me into moments that matter deeply. I do not take that trust lightly.
You are both hardworking individuals, but what stands out most is the way you work for one another. You support each other, help each other, and genuinely want the other person to thrive. Nate, it is clear that you give your whole heart to loving Malyah and making her happy. Malyah, the gratitude and admiration you have for Nate are equally clear.
Together, you will go far. But my prayer is not simply that you build a successful life. I pray you build a faithful one.
May Christ remain the center of your marriage and the home you create. May God give you endurance and encouragement in every season. May you continue pointing one another toward Jesus, choosing each other with humility and gentleness, and using your life together for His glory.
